Healthcare that grows with you

The healthcare needs of teenagers and young adults are different from those of younger children.

Adolescence brings new questions about mental health, medications, reproductive health, body changes, independence, and preparing to manage healthcare as an adult.

These concerns often benefit from something that's hard to find in a traditional visit: enough time to talk, ask questions, and think through the options.

Confidential Adolescent Care

Teens have space to ask questions and take an active role in their healthcare. Confidential care is provided in accordance with applicable law, while encouraging family communication when appropriate.

When Is Virtual Care a Good Fit?

Many teen and young adult health concerns can be evaluated and managed virtually, including ADHD, anxiety and depression, medication management, birth control, menstrual concerns, acne, healthy weight, and sleep.

Sometimes in-person care is needed. If an exam, testing, imaging, procedure, or vaccination is recommended, I’ll let you know and help you figure out the next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you see?

Teen Health visits are designed for adolescents and young adults, generally ages 12–24. If you're not sure whether this service is the right fit, I'd be happy to help you decide.

Do parents attend the visit?

For younger teens, parents are encouraged to participate in part of the visit. As adolescents grow, it's also important for them to have time to speak privately with their pediatrician. This helps teens develop confidence in managing their own health while encouraging open communication within families.

Can you prescribe medications during a virtual visit?

Yes. When medically appropriate, prescriptions can be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. Some medications or conditions may require additional evaluation, testing, or an in-person examination before treatment.

Need follow-up?

Follow-up visits are available for $125 for 30 minutes.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Teen Health visits are self-pay, allowing for longer appointments, direct access to your pediatrician, and transparent pricing without insurance restrictions. You may be able to use HSA or FSA funds, depending on your individual plan.

Where are Teen & Young Adult Health visits available?

Teen & Young Adult Health visits are currently available by telehealth to patients located in Ohio, Florida, and Indiana at the time of the visit.

Can you help if I already have a pediatrician or family doctor?

Absolutely. Many teens and young adults schedule a Teen Health visit for a specific concern while continuing to see their regular primary care clinician. When appropriate, I'm happy to coordinate recommendations with your existing healthcare team.

How is this different from Membership?

Teen Health Visits are designed for specific adolescent health concerns, with follow-up visits scheduled as needed. They do not include the ongoing access, unlimited messaging, comprehensive primary care, or after-hours support that are part of Jellybean Pediatrics Membership.
